Digital vs. Film

I think that the debate between digital photography versus traditional photography is a moot point. Both are great to know and great to use if you know how to use them. There are always gonna be tradeoffs for either one. One debate is money; sure digital photography has a greater up front cost, but over time film photography can cost you just as much, if not more, in materials. Another debate is time; you may spend hours in a darkroom processing film and prints, but with digital you have the freedom to take more photos so you spend extra time processing and editing the extra pictures you took. With digital you have instant gratification by seeing your images right away, but while you're inspecting the tiny image on your LCD you may be missing a chance at another great shot. I've been doing photography since high school and this is the first digital class I have ever taken and while I have always been a harcore supporter of film photography, I am starting to greatly appreciate digital media as well. I think film photograpy is great for black and white and digital is more conveinient for color. In the end it doesn't matter what the materials are, it matters what the artist does with those materials.
